I am seriously looking at the previous gen Jeep liberty 3.7 Limited. Found a nice 07 with under 50k miles for 11,000. Anyone have this suv? Any issues I should look out for besides the window issue? Truck looks clean. These engines are supposed to be quite durable.

Watch out for ex- rental cars, those will be abused in about every way

I must know what is "the window issue" ??

The window regulator was a known issue.

My wife wants me to just lease a Honda crv. I really prefer Jeep. Honda will have zero issues though.

Rental cars are like state vehicles.. Well maintained and never beat on...
Who am I kidding? I have a state job.. Hahahaha.

Haha, now let's see what happens if we put this Dodge Caliber into reverse at highway speeds!

We have a few civics, two or three Chevy cruze, a whole lot of Ford vans and trucks, but let me tell you what.. That Lincoln LS V8 has seen more donuts than I care to admit. Lmao.

Haha, we have a Cadillac Cts company car, if only that car could talk...

The E350 vans can be surprisingly fun in the snow. Haha. A little terrifying at times, but hey if I wreck I don't have to pay for it. It's weird how it works. Even if you're at fault in an accident, the other person involved still has to pay for whatever damage through his or her insurance.

I'm pretty sure that they started to put Lo Jack in the company cars. If they did, I have a lot of explaining to do

We just have to fill out a mileage log. They don't even look at them, most of the time they get put in file 13.

Same here, where I went, and how many miles it took to get there. Ours get filed though, and not in file 13 either

One major understated issue to watch out for: ANY coolant leaks. If the coolant is leaking from (I believe...) the block and is allowed to go below normal operating levels, it will not fill the top of the engine appropriately and will fry the top end of the engine without any knowledge to you.
This is something that my father was warned about with his 04 Liberty 3.7L that he bought new. Now don't get me wrong, if well maintained, they are amazingly, durable little things. My dad loves his and is well over 120,000 miles without any major issues!
Just look for any leaks but other than that, enjoy this fun, little Tonka truck!

I drove a 2006 Liberty after I got my license. I HATED every minute of it.
Jeeps just aren't my thing.

Do you care about gas mileage? It is atrocious on this thing.. Like good luck getting 13 mpg... Otherwise, very solid.

It's the only jeep I've ever owned that grenaded a motor. Build quality on the outside looked great but it's soul is made of shit. Do yourself a favor and just get a mid or late 90s Cherokee.

May I ask why you're not considering the CRD?
